You should set the ITK_DIR to <install prefix>/lib/cmake/ITK-4.0<br>
This changed in git sometime ago. I faced the same problem.<br>

Could FindITK.cmake be changed so that it will just find it if <install prefix> is on PATH? It is always nice when installed things are just found automatically instead of having to set environment variables.</div><div class="gmail_quote">
