I disabled Python wrappings in my Linux VTK configuration, reconfigured
ITK and completed build successfully. 'WSTITK Main.tcl' seems to be
working (getting some depreciation warnings though).

Most of my VTK code is in Python. I would be great if you could figure out
how to compile with Python enabled.
